During the height of Covid, I was approached about doing some work on a very rare 1925 Alvis body. I confess it was not something I was interested in doing really and Chris was dead set against taking on the project. As it happens over several phone calls and emails and many months of consideration, I agreed to “take a look at the body” so the customer or potential customer brought the main body up from Sydney for us to look at. One look at it said a number of things - big project, gorgeous body, aluminium or more accurately Hiduminium, hard to work, easy to stuff up! After some discussion, it was decided to take on the project, on a no quote basis, meaning we have no idea how hard or easy it is to beat and weld, how long it would take, or how to charge for it?
