1911 elmore
This 1911 Elmore, a well presented older restoration, is formerly of the famous Harrah’s collection in Reno Nevada. This car, was sold off to the Elmore Family at one of the 3 Harrah’s auctions and then re-acquired by the Harrah’s Museum. It was presented a 2nd place at the Tennessee Region “Best Restored Car” in 1958, prior to the purchase by Bill Harrah, which means it is a very complete correct example of this rare marque.
All Elmore’s were 2 stroke, and this car features the unusual gas distribution system, with the Atwater Kent “cabbage cutter” distributor and spark plug ignition. One of the few surviving Elmore produced post GM’s purchase of the company and subsequent closure of the firm converting the factory to body production only. A rare opportunity to purchase a truly unique vehicle with long well know province.
